August 6, 2016 - I’ve loved working on contemporary still life paintings this spring. To see them look on the Kanojo Oil page. Here I am last May showing my impressionistic Hawaiian paintings at the art walk in Kent Washington. I can’t wait to get in the studio and paint more still life this summer!

May 30, 2016 - I’ve been working with oils for quite a while now and I’m finding I really enjoy contemporary realism. Here is my latest painting below.

I’ve created a new video/slide project with a few of my 2014 paintings. They’re primarily landscapes in oil and acrylic, and show moods of Eastern Washington and the Pacific Northwest area where I live. The presentations give paintings another fun creative dimension for me.

In the Seattle area around the holidays, the Christmas ships make an appearance all decked out with their shining lights. There’s singing, hot cocoa, bonfires and a lot of good spirit.
“Starry Starry Christmas Night” is the title my fun palette knife version of one of the ships.

An interesting request and a fascinating woman!
Deb Bridge an English professor since 1985 at Mount Royal University in Canada contacted me this year about using one of my paintings as a tattoo. Recently she sent a photo of the results!… Deb got her first tattoo while visiting Ireland in 2011 when she was 58. Now she has eight of them, and it’s really fun to know my artwork is included. Here’s my vintage watercolor painting "Passageway" and her tattoo with an altered background.

A sweet story…
Friday evening at the Fall Wine & Art Auction, this couple became the owners my painting. They will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary this week. The husband bought the painting as a gift for his wife. They said it would be displayed at their table during the anniversary celebration when they renew their vows. How lovely is that!

November 2012 A- Our hearts are with the east coast and the devastation of hurricane Sandy, but for people that live there it’s hard to know where to start in the reconstruction of their lives… There’s no doubt that our good and loving thoughts help, and being an artist on Nov.1 I decided to paint the piece below… One of the first heart saddening accounts I heard was of the sinking of the HMS Bounty where two lost their lives….This Tall Ship was a replica, and was built for the 1962 movie “Mutiny on the Bounty.” I had the pleasure of visiting it when it was in Washington. ----- Please message me if you’re interested in bidding on my painting. All proceeds sans shipping I will donate to the HMS Bounty relief fund. Starting bid is $100 - the painting will go to the highest bid by Nov. 9, 2012... so, Please check my facebook page for current up-dates... and do share it from facebook on your timeline if you like. Thank you.

September 11, 2009 - Last night I attended the Puyallup Fair award ceremony for artists and received my award for “Ballet Bella.” There are some remarkable pieces in this show! Pieces entered totaled 1084. There was h’orderves, wine, and a crowded house! It was good to see artist friends that I have not seen for a long time and meet some amazing artists. One of them was Dee Dee Murry, who is demonstrating today at the fair. She is a realistic animal and pet portrait artist. You can visit her Web site to see her incredible work at www.deedeemurry.com

In addition, my friend Robert Tandecki will be demonstrating watercolor on September 19 between 10am and 7pm in the pavilion. He paints beautiful watercolors of marine and rural environments of the Pacific Northwest. www.tandeckistudio.com
